Supply Chain Management – Houston, We Have Lift Off!
REGISTER NOW
Supply Chain has evolved from a “Leap of Faith” to “Lift Off”, since rescheduling this meeting due to the pandemic. Every customer makes a “Leap of Faith”, when they place an order with a company. Most consumers have some degree of concern as to whether the order will be fulfilled and delivered as desired.
In consideration of recent events since March 11th, supply chain managers have found it even more necessary than usual to innovate and transform their supply chains. Those who benefit from the resulting improvements include customers and consumers of all types, and trading partners in ecosystems that facilitate the creation of value through meaningful and effective collaboration and alignment.
This presentation will explore some of the factors that are responsible for the increased urgency to become involved in supply chain innovation and transformation. Also to be highlighted are new technologies and approaches that will lead to success. Both shippers and third-party service providers can now “Leap over the Hurdles” that have caused customers to fasten their belts in anticipation of poor service. To further guarantee this success developing future supply chain talent is a high priority for our educational institutions and participating organizations in today’s supply chains.

Since 1996, this study has documented and measured the transformation of the third-party logistics industry. The 2019 study showed that “83% of shippers and 98% of 3PLs were in accord that 3PL usage had translated into improving customer services “to the ultimate customers.” It shows that shippers and their 3PL providers are increasingly moving toward meaningful partnerships and working together to accomplish their supply chain goals. The demand for 3PL services is expected to about double the pace of GDP growth at 5.2 percent between 2018 and 2022.
