Investing in the future of transportation and logistics education

At our Annual Dinner, TCP distributed over $4,500 in scholarships to family members of TCP members. Is your membership up to date?

The Traffic Club of Philadelphia is pleased to sponsor and administer a variety of scholarships for higher education. These scholarships recognize outstanding scholastic achievement, encourage students to pursue careers in transportation, and honor Traffic Club members and others who have made invaluable contributions to their profession and the Delaware Valley.

These scholarships are available on a competitive basis each year. Applicants must adhere to the prescribed application process which varies for each scholarship. Students are encouraged to apply for all of the scholarships, and may do so more than once. However, generally speaking, a student may not be awarded an individual scholarship (e.g. The Traffic Club of Philadelphia Scholarship) more than once.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a member in good standing for at least two years in order to be eligible
  • Scholarships are available to family members of TCP members
  • Students may apply for multiple scholarships annually

Available Scholarships

Larry F. Mungiole Scholarship

$1,500

This scholarship will be awarded in the memory of a long-time supporter of the Club whose vast network of friends and associates clearly highlighted why our industry is so important to industry in the Delaware Valley and beyond. Many Club members will always remember his cheery disposition and ready willingness to always help a friend.

This scholarship award will be given to a good student who believes in hard work and a commitment to 'give-back' to their community and associates. Larry would want it no other way.

The Dick Bray Memorial Scholarship

$1,500

This scholarship honors another long-time supporter of the Club. As a member of the local freight community for over 50 years, Dick amassed a large community of friends on both sides of the table here in the Delaware Valley. His commitment to honesty and a hard day's work contributed to many long-time customers staying with him even as markets continue to evolve.

This scholarship is to be awarded to a college student committed to the ideals of this country who recognizes the same principles Dick applied each and every day - involved, committed, knowledgeable, honest and sincere.

William J. Tucker Scholarship

$1,000 (Two Available)

Presented at the National Transportation Week Lunch

Tucker Company Worldwide is awarding two scholarships in memory of Bill Tucker, a longtime supporter of the Club. Bill was a genuine pioneer of freight transportation with countless achievements throughout his 33-year transportation career. He was an industry legend who founded the TIA, co-founded the CTB program, and played a pivotal role in the trucking deregulation movement. Bill always upheld high standards of service.

These two scholarships will be given to college students who exhibit the same drive and passion as Bill and are working towards making a positive impact on their community.
