Director of Transportation

Located in either New Jersey or Southern California

Total Compensation in the $160-220k range (base + bonus)

The Director of Transportation is in a critically important role, overseeing all domestic and international transportation for the organization.  This person will supporting the timely delivery of customer packages in a rapidly evolving multi-carrier, complex fulfillment network. In this leadership role you will work cross-functionally influencing key areas of the business and actively engaging with other transportation leaders, fulfillment operations, and technology and business leaders.

• This person will lead carrier negotiation, selection, and own implementation and customer delivery commitment and the associated budgets for these activities. This individuals will bring new insights to carrier products and ways to improve service that lowers costs across the network
• Review the current metrics and identify ways to better understand our business and the key drivers to improve customer service as well as inform leadership of our performance to plan, both from a service and cost perspective
• Drive complex operations and projects - exceeding expectations and delivering business results
• Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) LEAN initiatives that drive improvement throughout Supply Chain Operations through data, feedback and iteration
• Builds trusted partnerships, drive decisions, and align disparate groups to achieve goals
• Work on high profile projects with executive visibility and engagement
• Make principled decisions under pressure and find the “right” path, particularly when there are different/competing points of view
• Utilize data storytelling to drive insights, define strategy and inform execution across written and verbal mediums internally and externally
• Define and run effective, efficient and repeatable business processes
• Navigate multiple sources of data and multiple stakeholders to prioritize initiatives
