    The Director of Business Development’s focus is hunting for new business and maintaining a current book of business. The duties include identifying and sourcing new customer industry targets, prospecting and maintaining defined quotas and sales objectives, growing, and developing a sales pipeline and delivering weekly updates based on activity.


    Essential Job Duties

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Acquire new business
    • Develop and grow healthy pipeline of opportunities that align with company targets and objectives
    • Present sales solutions to prospective customers while ensuring DM is well positioned within the market
    • Entertain new prospects and current clients
    • Develop a strategy focused on revenue and profitability growth and customer satisfaction
    • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs
    • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers
    • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
    • Promote the company’s services, addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
    • Keep records of sales, revenue, invoices etc.
    • Travel as needed

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 3+ years of brokerage/3PL sales experience
    • Experience managing multiple customers simultaneously
    • Well versed with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
    • Strong typing skills
    • Ability to remain patient and calm under pressure
    • Top-notch customer service skills
    • Skill to quickly pivot from one task to another and reprioritize throughout the day
    • Stellar persuasion skills and ability to close sales
    • Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English in a professional manner

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 5+ years of brokerage/3PL sales experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field
